Battles Unsung
 

Peace
is often hard won.

Often our Peace depends upon the outcome of battles
Battles which we never see,
Never hear of.
 

Sacrifices and struggles that are beyond our ken.
Sometimes loving peaceful thoughts
are not enough.

Sometimes, knowing that God loves us,
that Jesus died for us,
and that the Holy Spirit Indwells us,
is not enough.

For that very goodness begins in us
a battle. A battle which needs
our willing self gift,
our willing self discipline,
and often

strength that is more than human.
 

There is real evil,
and real good.
Sometimes we have to
'take arms against a sea of troubles'
rather than simply responding to them,
or living through them the best we can.
 

The wounds are real.
The scars are lasting.

The struggle is not over yet..
 
 

When you need that strength,
know that there are those
different from us,
who from the beginning of time
have stood
by the side of the Greater Light.

This is a Place for such times,
a place for the invocation of such strength.
Let this be then

Sanctuary of the Angels
Where He gives his angels charge over you . .
